Garrett M. Stephen

Garrett Stephen is a senior managing director and head of direct lending origination at Napier Park Global Capital, a leading global alternative credit platform and a First Eagle Investments company. Based in Napier Park’s Boston office, he serves as a member of the Direct Lending Investment Committee. Garrett leads the Direct Lending origination team, overseeing the sourcing of new investment opportunities and working closely with the investment team on structuring, underwriting and monitoring investments. He has extensive experience structuring investments across the capital structure and has partnered with numerous private equity firms to finance companies across a broad range of industries. He became part of First Eagle in 2020 upon the firm’s acquisition of THL Credit, which he had joined in 2012. Prior to joining THL Credit, he was an associate in Lazard’s restructuring group. He began his career as an analyst specializing in corporate turnarounds and restructurings across a variety of industries at CDG Group, a middle-market restructuring firm. Garrett earned a BS in finance and quantitative perspectives and a minor in management, summa cum laude, from Bentley University.
