Carl Katerndahl

Carl Katerndahl is chief operating officer of the High Yield Municipal Credit team. He is responsible for overseeing the team’s day-to-day operations and partners with the product and distribution teams to support the growth of the high yield muni business. Prior to joining First Eagle in October 2023, Carl was managing partner of private investment firm Winnick & Company and CEO and Chairman of WCO Spectrum, one of its portfolio holdings. Previously, he was Head of US Advisory Services for Nuveen, leading the firm’s distribution efforts across retail, institutional and consultant channels, and served as co-CEO of its broker-dealer. Earlier in his career, Carl held portfolio management and investment advisory roles at Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney and Morgan Stanley, and with Gordon P. Getty founded the Forward Funds and mutual fund liquidity provider Reflow. He earned a BS in international business from University of the Pacific.
